"The Eyes are the Windows to the Soul"

Hello and welcome. Today I am sharing the third of my creations for The Scrapbook Store, using Prima Marketing Inc. Bedtime Story collection. This is a most beautiful collection with lots of differing ephemera to embellish with. With my goodie box Suzanne included so many different flowers from this collection. And I suppose by now you would know how important the flower aspect is to me. So for this layout I have found a photo of my son at a most precious age. One of my most favourite photos of him just hanging out being cool and relaxed on his Winnie the Pooh fold out couch.

I know it is said that boys should not have flowers on their pages, but when the photo comes from a very young milestone in their lives I don't hesitate.

I have done a small photo tutorial for this layout which you can find over at
The Scrapbook Store here.

I have included lace and cheesecloth to soften the layout but to keep it gentle and sweet.

These beautiful chipboards from Dusty Attic are one of my favourites. Find out out I altered them and made them go further.

I have used two Kaisercraft Dies for this layout. The Window which you can see here and the Brick Wall which is scattered around the base of the photo to give it some support.

This Chipboard title is from Um Wow. Love this phrase and I thought it worked perfectly with the photo of Hayden gazing with those big brown eyes!!

Okay and some Pussy Willow strands to frame the photo. They are so bendy you can make them run in any direction.

Well that's it from me. I so hope you enjoyed your visit here today.
And if you would like to see the tutorial go here.....

Happy Scrapping

"A Wee Little Story - Together"

Well I am back again......this time with another creation created for my Design Team part over at The Scrapbook Store. I think this would have to be my favourite layout done from this collection. When I first received this collection I knew instantly which photo I wanted to use. But it took a long time to find. Thought it was a photo of my own, but it turns out that my mother in law took the photo and it is in her collection. So I kindly asked her to send it over! There were so many of these photos that I could not choose just one.....so I went with three!

This is a photo of my eldest daughter sitting quietly listening intently whilst her Dad reads to her. These are the photos that pull on the heart strings for me. They recall the moments that we will never have again..............

So I hope you enjoy this, I have titled it ...

"A Wee Little Story - Together"

My starting point with this layout believe it or not was this beautiful Chipboard Brittania Flourish from Blue Fern Studios. I wanted to create an aged feeling with this flourish. But firstly I cut it at 3/4 of the way down to elongate the chipboard piece. I then started to dress the piece using three acrylic paints to create a rusting effect. I did many layers of paints drying in between to create a bubbling effect on each layer. Once finished I framed my matted and inked photo with the chipboard flourish anchoring it with mounting tape to the right middle of my background piece.

I have printed off two extra photos from this day in a smaller size and matted them as previous.
I then poked them in to sit at the top right and bottom left of the main photo.

As seen here I have clustered my flowers to run from the right photo through the middle and down to the third and last photo at the left of the page. I used a chipboard title piece from the Prima Marketing Bedtime Stories collection to adorn the base of the Brittania flourish. This was firstly inked with Walnut Stain and mounted.

I have included a few more close-ups for you.

Well that's all from me today. So hope you have enjoyed your stay here today. I will be back tomorrow with the last of my DT creations for the month of June. Please find below the list of materials used for this project.

Thank you so much for visiting me here and happy Scrapping ......

"Dream" - The Scrapbook Store Design Team creation

 Hello and welcome back.
My layout today has been created for The Scrapbook Store as part as my Design Team work for June. I have been extremely lucky enough this month to receive Prima Marketing Inc. Bedtime Stories collection. This collection of patterned papers along with the embellishment pack of tags, chipboards, feathers and flowers are a must have. It has encouraged me to dig deep looking for those special moments of my children at a very young age. This has been titled..........
"Dream"

This photo of my son taken a good 12 years ago was snapped whilst we were on holiday. No matter where we were, Bob the Builder would be a must have to bring along. He was my sons sleeping partner for a number of years. And he (Bob) still has a spot on the bookcase, falling apart a little at the seams but a huge sentimental piece.

I started this layout off with a layered starting base and built on it with patterned papers and embellishments galore.

Using the feathers from this collection for me was a must. I decided to use them to frame my matting and photo.

The quality of these papers are superb! Great to distress sand, roll and ink.

And of course no layout of mine is complete without a little or a lot of chipboard.
All the pieces I used here were dressed with gesso, distress inks and crackle accents.

And from another view.
I have listed the products used for this layout below. All are available here from The Scrapbook Store.
Thank you for visiting me here today.

Happy Scrapping....

"Cherish" - Design Team Creation for The Scrapbook Store using June's Sketch Challenge

A very warm welcome to you on this very cold morning here in Queensland!
I am sitting here still rugged up in the dressing gown and slippers keeping warm.
Today I am here to share my interpretation of June's Sketch Challenge for The Scrapbook Store.
You can find it below. Thank you to Marelize for this fantastic sketch. It really made me think!!

I have been so wanting to do something a little Vintage for sometime now, as it has been a while. I came across this gorgeous photo of my mother-in law as a young toddler. Isn't she just the cutest. Love the bow in her hair!! So I wanted to do something a little vintage with a lot of prettiness using this month's sketch and this is what I came up with.......

"Cherish"

To start off I turned the sketch on its side. From here I used the patterned papers layering them after tearing them in to strips. It is hard to see here as I have also layered lots of embellies over the top...lol!!

I have used a little media being some modelling paste through my Prima Crackle Stencil. Once it dried I inked over it with a little Black Soot distress ink.

These resins are incredibly beautiful. The first time I laid eyes on them I knew I had to have them and so I did. I have only used the couch and the dresser from this pack. Keeping the phone for another layout. I inked over the couch here with a little Dusty Concord and Black Soot to give it a little colour.

I hand dyed the
Lace and Cheesecloth with some tea and I punched some leaves, 18 to be exact! Each was inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and moulded to shape.

As I always do I have listed below all the materials used for this layout with item numbers where I could. I hope you have enjoyed my Vintage Styled layout today.

Thank you ever so much for visiting!
