"Awesome Times"

Welcome!!

As with the previous posts I have mentioned that my goodies box from Fabscraps contained 3 of the new releases being shown this year at  CHA. This collection titled Floral Delight is the second of the collections. It contains two lots of differing colours, a green and yellow range as seen here and a white and blue range.  I saw the yellow and green and immediately started fussy cutting in front of the television that night. Wasn't sure what I would do with it but this is how it came about.

I am pleased to present to you "Awesome Times".

I firstly layered a couple of pieces of  the Floral Delight patterned papers and distressed and inked them.

My fussy cutting which has been layered and mounted. These were really easy florals to cut out.

If you look closely you can see that I have done some shadowing using Distress Inks and a paintbrush, and I then watered it down with a little sponging of white gesso.

I have also added a lot of bling and some random stamping using my favourite postal stamps.

The Fabscraps chipboard titled was simply dressed using some liquid pearls. And for the tag from the journal book I added a Fabscraps Filigreee charm that I dressed with liquid pearls and cut in half and slid it over and behind the tag.

Some more close-ups of the stamping and fussy cutting.

And of course I tucked in a little hand dyed cheesecloth for good measure!!

I hope you like this one as much as I enjoyed creating it. One of my favourites, and I don't say that too often. Keep scrolling for materials and instructions, and if you like leave me a message and let me know what you think.
Thanks for visiting and happy scrapping.

"Life is Beautiful"

Hi there and welcome to my blog.

Today I have a share of a Design Team creation for Fabscraps. This time around I have used the new "Floral Delight" collection. The instant I saw this paper I thought of a boys layout......but funnily enough the photo I found to use was capturing a moment that I felt needed a touch of softness to it. So for this I decided to use a lot of lace and flowers. Not such a masculine page but I really wanted to relay the moment was was captured by my camera.

My son Hayden has a very special place in his heart for all animals especially dogs. This photo was taken on our move to Brisbane. Whilst waiting for our house to finalise the kids and I stayed at a bed and breakfast for a couple of weeks up in the hills of Morayfield. We were looked after by a lovely lady called Meg. She had two lovely old dogs that would look in on us every day during our stay and Hayden took particular interest to this one. His name I cannot remember, but I do remember him going missing one night and returning the next day very tired and disorientated. After a good feed and some loving cuddles he came right fortunately.

I have titled this layout "Life is Beautiful".....I hope you enjoy it.

I have used lots of layering of papers for this one with the addition of cutting out panels of the circles to add an extra layer.

This lace has been sitting in my stash for ever and a day so I thought that now was the time to use it. I have spritzed it with some mist to give the tea colour. It has also been cut up into smaller pieces to make it go further.

I have added some snippets of tea dyed cheesecloth into sections of the flowers to make them pop a little more off the layout. Here you can also see the layering of the cutout circles with the striped patterned paper beneath.

I have added a few Fabscraps charm pieces here. These are my new favourite things to embellish pages with. Here you can see the key tied with a piece of jute....so cute!!

I hope you have enjoyed your visit here today. Remember to keep scrolling if you are interested in a materials list and instructions.

Happy Scrapping

"Summer Paradise"

Good morning wherever you may reside!! At present we are on our yearly holiday at our favourite location beside the beach. So it only seems logical to post a beach themed creation. A few days ago I posted "Beachside" which was created using the "Beach Affair" collection from Fabscraps. This layout titled "Summer Paradise" has been created using the same collection, this time a little less embellishing and a lot more mixed media. Not my usual style......but I like it! I hope you do too!

For this layout I used a lot of the Fabscraps chipboard "Beach Affairs" collection. I absolutely and totally love these pieces. I have dressed them up with gesso and inks and a little bit of crackle accents.........my fave thing to use!

I have added in some more netting as you can see here. I have also used doubled up twine which I have wrapped around the Fabscraps Chipboard Anchor. And you can see very clearly here the painted on inks on the background that I have used to tie in with the photo. Had to do a little mixing of colours to match............

I just love this lighthouse chippie.......thankyou Fabscraps! Again I have done some painting with my inks to colour this piece and the same for the title.

A collection of shells is always made on our holiday stay at our beach location. These shells were from our last stay and I love to use them on my layouts to try and capture the story behind the photo.
And if you look closely at the Anchor here you will see the crackling effect made using Crackle Accents. It also accentuates the inking colours.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed your stay here today.
I will be back again real soon........stay tuned.

Happy scrapping!

"Beachside"

Hi there,,,,,Happy New Year and welcome back.

I know it has been a little while between posts but be assured I have been busily scrapping away for this years Fabscraps CHA booth.
Fabscraps will be releasing 3 new ranges in Anaheim this week and I am so thrilled to have been able to create with them all. I have had endless hours of fun with these collections and I am still scrapping away with more to come!!
My first share is from Fabscraps first newly released "Beach Affair" collection. Love everything about this range!!And I had the perfect photo to start the ball rolling with, so to say.

This photo of my gorgeous girl Cydne has been tucked away in a safe spot and every now and then I pull it out, but it has just never really suited anything until now!!

So I would like to show you my layout titled "Beachside".

For this layout I have used a lot of layering with torn and distress papers from the "Beach Affair" collection.

My box of goodies from Fabscraps included lots of beautiful little charms. The lighthouse you can see above is one of them.....soooooo cute. I have simply given it a coat of gesso and randomly inked over it to make it pop a little.

I have also included lots of shells and a piece of coral that was collected from Forster on our holiday stay there. You will even find some sand hanging from the fish netting in some places on the page.

And not a Fabscraps addition but an op shopping addition. Bought a scrabble board game a few months back and have been eagerly awaiting to use them. Dry brushed them with a little gesso to give a whitewash beachy feel.

Another Fabscraps charm......the anchor with the addition of more shells and a little hand dyed cheesecloth.

And the Fabscraps Chipboard Sailing Wheel. All the chippie pieces in this collection are simply stunning and so very easy to use. I hope you have enjoyed your visit here. If you keep scrolling you will find a materials list and an instructional step by step for "Beachside".

Until next time happy scrapping.
